Our wedding was divine. All the planning and the dreaming came together to create our glorious day.
When we were planning our wedding, we endeavoured to remain relaxed and flexible. But there, of course, were a few non-negotiables. We wanted family, intimacy and fun. I emailed what felt like a million wineries and barns but nothing was standing out to us. I was driving on South Road on the way home and I passed Ten22. Something in me just clicked and I knew I had to check it out. As soon as Aaron and I walked in, we felt at ease. The vibe and atmosphere at Ten22 is relaxed, intimate and the styling was unique and excellent.
Nat and Dave were so personable and genuine. They made the whole process straightforward. They were accommodating and generous, making us feel special and valued.
Our wedding day was everything we could have dreamed. It was full of love and family. It truly was a sacred and beautiful day. The food and drink at Ten22 was obviously so delicious but also abundant! We wanted our guests to leave full and happy and that was most definitely achieved. We danced and ate and shared the day with our most precious people. Thank you to Ten22 for everything and helping to make our day all we could have hoped.
Also a massive thanks to Sorelle Food Co. for our divine flowers, table designs and dessert bar. And to our tribe of loved ones for running errands and surrounding us with love and support.
It is a re-occurring fad in modern-day wedding planning to go one better; to add a quirky touch to your special day that out-quirks all other novelty “been-done-before” ideas. Terrarium bonbonnieres, hanging planes, costume-filled photobooths, humorous cake-toppers. Little details that are used to exude effortless cool, and represent who you are as a couple. Every little detail can make your wedding day special and unique, and can help steady the balance between the traditional and the contemporary. However, few weddings have radiated effortlessness like that of Melissa & Jordan’s.
Never before have I seen a bride swaying blissfully on the dance floor, feet clad in white converse sneakers, hair out and flowing naturally like she had no care in the world. And she didn’t. No minor detail phased Melissa, she was happy with others’ suggestions, simply shrugging her shoulders and smiling at the crowd; She just wanted to enjoy the ride.
Grazing platters of cheeses and dips greeted guests in the entrance, making for an intimate drinks-on-arrival setting for loved ones to meet and mingle before heading through to the main space for dinner. Guests found their seats by way of personalized jars of Nutella, a groovy novelty I am still yet to get over, and the whole affair was familiar and casual; A feast on tapas and paella while the conversation hummed and the champagne flowed.
The toasts took place, and the dancing begun, but there was not a moment in between where Melissa and Jordan weren’t laughing and grinning ear to ear. It was almost as if they hadn’t spent the better part of a year planning a wedding (for most of us, we know the struggle). Instead the event was enjoyed as if they were guests at their own party; as it should be.
As the night drew to a close Melissa and Jordan farewelled their friends and family under a sky of sparklers, spread out along the rustic laneway. Well wishes were hollered out, and as you start thinking the coolest wedding is all over, they step into a parked blue Mustang. Revved up and waiting for them, horse logos holographed on to the ground beneath, the sleek blue shimmered under the street-lights; it was the ultimate mic-drop to signal the end of a triumphant effortlessly cool night.

When my finance first proposed in December 2017, I had no idea what sort of wedding I wanted and to be honest, it was overwhelming. I knew that we wanted to have a celebration with our family that was casual, understated yet effortlessly chic and elegant and madly started to hunt for a reception venue that met all the things that I wanted. To add to complexity, I had to find the location whilst living in another state. I knew that I needed some help!
This is when we came across Ten22 Boutique Venue, which had a beautiful open space, that really was a canvass for a bride to design the wedding that she has always had in mind and for the bride who needs some help (that’s me), plenty of experience to guide them through some of the best ways to use the space. It met all of our expectations and would allow us to have a reception that people felt welcomed, warm and comfortable at.
We met with owners Nat and Dave (with such great support from Fran in Administration) mostly via Skype and phone and had guided tours throughout the space from over 3000km away.
During the planning stage, there really was nothing that Ten22 could not do, they provided great ideas for the space and really facilitated any request that we had. The attention to detail to provide all of our guests with an amazing experience, not just my husband and I, was second to none.
On the big day….
The day truly ran like clockwork with Ten22 coordinating all vendors and making sure that things were all in order. Upon arrival, the bridal party was sat into a private room to enjoy some champagne and nibbles, whilst our guests enjoyed generous tasting plates filled with high quality cheeses and canapes.
We had two long tables, with a family style approach to the meal, opting to have tapas for entrée and paella for main.
The paella. There are no words for how delicious it is and it was cooked in front of the guests which really added to a lively, engaging and casual atmosphere.
We had the best night and I would absolutely recommend this venue to any bride or for any event. We would also shout out to St Louis Ice Creamery, who provided the amazing ice cream, Petals and Sage for the beautiful floristry and table décor, the sensational cake from the Bake Space, music by Jonny Lee Live and of course, all captured by Alex Kwong Photography.
To Nat and Dave, thank you for everything – this was truly the most special day and we could not have had a better way to start the rest of our lives together.
Court and Sam
PS Seriously, what do you put in that paella?
We often get asked as to why we only do shared table menus at our catered events. For an Australian wedding we understand it isn’t conventional, and set dinners have long been the standing tradition for wedding menus. While this may be the case for common weddings, there is a reason we choose to do shared table menus, and why we do them so well.
We love to create an experience for all the senses. Not only are our Paella Bar menus flavoursome, but the scent when they are cooked in the space fragrances the room, giving rise to mouth-watering guests. As if eyeing off the colourful, stunning feasts alone wouldn’t do it. Devouring delicious cuisine at Ten 22 is an event, not just a meal.
Guests at Ten 22 are spoilt for choice. Gone are the days of the dreaded chicken or fish. Instead your guests can choose from an abundance of choices fresh from pan to table. We are re-creating the spectacular banquet of yesteryear, with more flavor, more pizazz, and with more spiced sangria than you can consume in a lifetime. We are giving it all at every event, and we are doing it with style.
The idea of a shared table is exactly that; sharing. We want the food to be passed, for guests to partake in the experience; to participate and involve themselves in the conversations and the people surrounding them. Weddings, any events really, are times for people to come together; to connect. Our paella, sliders, lamb shanks, pizzas; they do just that. Nothing brings people closer together than food, and our menus promote interaction over the table; elevating enjoyment.
Shared tables also make way for a more relaxed dining experience. We don’t cater stuffy dining halls where conversations are muted, and the words best behavior are echoed through the space. Instead we create an all-in help yourself environment where guests are free to eat as much or as little as they want. The best part being that no one goes home hungry; we over-cater to over-deliver. We want your guests to rave about the food, the event, the ambiance – and they do.
If this post does not already have you licking your lips, you are about to. Not only are our shared table menus a whole sensory experience, an abundance of choice, conversation starters, and a relaxing alternative; they look divine. Visually, your guests will be appeased before first bite. Your Instagram worthy photos will be the talk of wedding magazines, and the words “stunning wedding” may be thrown around here and there. If you don’t believe us, see for yourself…
Sometimes a flicker of a spark is all it takes to pique one's interest. Or every so often, you might feel the fireworks. But then there's that beautiful once in a lifetime moment, beyond anything you've ever felt... And you just know.
Only two weeks after meeting, my man and I walked hand in hand into Ten22, the 27th of May 2017 branded on our minds. It was a Wednesday evening in November, balmy and beautiful. A pair of black double doors were held ajar welcoming us into the industrial chic boutique venue. It was our style to a tee. Antique furnishings mixed with the promise of hearty food and lighting to set any mood, we made up our minds almost as quickly as we had made the decision to get married. Again, it was a confidence from God. We were in the right place in our lives both emotionally and now physically.
Nat and Dave made the process flawlessly easy. A seven month window was all we had to plan - there wasn't even a ring yet! (That came Christmas Eve...) Still, we had decided very early that all we wanted was a celebration and we knew, without a doubt, that Ten22 was the perfect place to hold it.
One planning meeting, one set up day and the next time I strolled into Ten22 was in a big white dress. Nat was all smiles and full of well wishes as we made our entrance. Our bridal party was then ushered to the Parisian Lounge while our guests mingled near the bar. After a few champagnes and some much needed refreshments, it was time.
We burst through the sheer curtains that spanned from floor to ceiling into a room filled with applause. Our guests clinked their cutlery against their glasses insisting we kiss beneath the exquisitely ornate chandelier - not that we needed much convincing.
When we booked with Nat and Dave they assured us no one would leave hungry. Coming from a Russian family, this was music to my ears. Still, the gourmet Spanish feast exceeded even my expectations. From chorizo to bruschetta to masses of paella and so much more, our guests could barely eat the rose frosted cupcakes! Months later, people are still talking about the food.
Last night my husband and I (yes I still get chuffed to say that) attended Adelady's The Longest Table event to support Breast Cancer Research. We gazed around the room and reminisced about our special day. As I shook my heel from catching on the sheer curtain, I remembered the tulle of my dress getting snagged on some timber, followed by rip! I laughed. Both at the time and last night as I recalled it. After all, it's one day. One special day to celebrate - rip or no rip.
Ten22 is not just a venue, it's a unique space to create memories. When we walked in last night, we weren't treated as mere guests, we were treated like family.
Just like the moment we met, the first time we stepped up to the black and white facade of Ten22, we knew...

Hey team, Adelady just wanted to say a HUGE BIG THANK YOU to all of you for being such amazing contributors to our Longest Table on Saturday night.
We are so completely blown away by the clear profit for the night - over $25,000! None of this would have been possible without all of you assisting us in lowering our outgoing expenses.
It was a fabulous night, thanks again for everything that you guys did, both in the lead up and during the actual night.
Being able to turn a venue into exactly what you want gives you the creativity and power to make it AH-MAZING! (we love you Dave & Nat from Ten22).
Gorgeous Alix & Luke had a stand up wedding and it was sensational! These guys certainly knew how to personalise their event. They bought in Daytona machines and carried a Halloween theme on Halloween. They chose our Tapas menu & beverage package and we also had Daiquaris on the bar. We loved that their wedding reflected everything that was about them and truly showcased their personality.
"Our wedding ceremony & reception was on Halloween. From the first meeting, through the best day of my life and beyond, Nat, Dave, Fran and their crew have been beyond sensational, I don't even have the words! Planning could not have been easier, with either Fran or Nat answering any of my hundred questions quickly......And Dave making sure our arcade machines were working correctly.
Also for smashing out the most delicious food on the night, making sure all our guests were well fed, awkward dietary requirements and all! (Nat even made a point to ensure I always had food or a drink in my hand).
One of our guests now wants to have his wedding at Ten22!
I would recommend this venue to everyone. I cannot wait to have another function here!"

"We were so happy we chose TEN22 to have our closest family & friends to share our big day full of love!
My husband and myself wanted a spin on your typical Big Fat Greek Wedding & TEN22 fit our vision perfectly! With the beautiful blank canvas Fran, Dave & Nat were able to help us bring the outdoors in - bringing the stunning rustic venue into a Mediterranean feel!
Food was nothing short of beautiful and everyone loved the experience of sharing, just like us Greeks know how to!
We would definitely recommend Ten22 for a venue that brings individuality and a different culinary experience that you and your guests will be talking about well after the event!
Thank you To Dave, Nat & Fran for your help & excitement leading up to our wedding and for making us feel so comfortable!"

"We just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for providing us with such a beautiful wedding & unique space for our big day. You guys did a really great job in the lead up to the wedding and the evening was perfect too. The service from your staff was excellent and the food! The food was truly delicious, everyone loved it!" A special thank you to Jessica Clark for the beautiful photos. X
We absolutely loved hosting Effie + Pauls' wedding! And boy did these guys know how to celebrate! This was a true big fat Greek wedding and it was fabulous! from the traditional Greek dancing to the smashing of the plates, this wedding was one we will remember for a long time to come! Effie and Paul styled the space with a rustic vintage feel which gave the space warmth and love. They hung candles over the bridal table and candle lit the tables which twinkled thru night. They also engaged the services of 'Nicks Catering' who put on a traditional Greek Buffet for all the guests to enjoy.
Effie loved planning her wedding so much she now has a little business called Hide The Receipt. We wish her and her endeavours all the very best for the future! Nat x
A special thank you to Dannielle McPherson Photography for these beautiful images.
"Just wanted to say that we could not have chosen a better venue for our beautiful wedding, Thank you so so much for all your time and patience you guys are so lovely ( and funny ) The venue looked amazing and we enjoyed every moment and are so grateful ! We highly recommend to anyone looking for a venue for any occasion and will def be back again!! all the best x" Effie
It was an absolute pleasure working with this beautiful couple to create a very memorable wedding. These guys know how to party! They chose the Easter weekend to celebrate and they did it in true style. Their bomboniere was haighs chocolate easter eggs, their styling classic with class, and they knew how to dance! They chose the shared table menu where their guests enjoyed to eat as much or as little as they wanted! The highlight was when the groom & groomsmen did a surprise dance for the bride and guests....and the dancing did not stop! Ten22 was certainly bouncing as the dance floor was jam-packed all evening!
"Beautiful function, the service is awesome. Working with the owners has been easy going and fun. Definitely recommend this place to anyone." "We had such an amazing night and so again, thank you all for your kindness and hospitality. It was a day we will certainly always look back on with such fond and fun memories". JR & Anne.
We found Ten22 early on while looking for somewhere unique for our wedding. Nat and Dave (and Fran) were just fantastic, working with us to help create the best evening. We held both the Ceremony & Reception at Ten22 on a Friday evening in March. The Spanish menu was just fantastic (as was the Sangria), and the 'shared table' option was just perfect for us and the relaxed atmosphere we were after. It was like a giant family dinner! Thanks again guys, it was just perfect. Mel & Matt
Thank you to Evan Bailey Photography for these beautiful images.
My new husband and I held our wedding reception at Ten22 on Saturday 28.2.15 and we honestly couldn't have chosen a more perfect venue! Nat and Dave are wonderful to work with and truly put in the hard work to make our day flawless. They were so flexible when it came to giving us what we had dreamed of and every detail was perfect. The food was incredible, cocktails at the bar were divine and the service from them and their staff was second to none! Thankyou so much Nat, Dave and Fran for everything. I have no doubt we will be seeing you again! xxx Zoe & Daniel
Zoe and Daniel chose to have black linen as part of their decor and pops of coloured florals on their tables. They hired in round tables and chivari chairs transforming our space and enhancing into an industrial chic feel. They celebrated into the night with much dancing and later treated their guests to a gelato cart which served the gelato in our outdoor area. Was a truly beautiful wedding and such a lovely couple to work with.
Zoe & Mike chose to marry at Ten22 and then follow on from their beautiful heartfelt ceremony with a roaring celebration into the night. We set the chapel area in front of our historical church doors which made the perfect backdrop where sincere heartfelt vowels and rings were exchanged. The atmosphere was electric from the minute Zoe walked down the isle, it was truly magical from the moment their event began. When their ceremony ended, their guests did not hesitate as the party & celebrations began. They chose our stand up tapas menu where the food and top end wine flowed until they could consume no more! Some of the tapas they chose included Spanish Paella, pulled pork tacos, spanish tortilla, meatballs and more. From her beautiful couture gown, to her styling of vintage lounge nooks, stunning florals, indoor fairy lit plants and crystal candlelit vessels made for an atmosphere that was warm, romantic and timeless.
"Thank you Nat & Dave for an extraordinary night. The venue lived up to all of our expectations." Zoe.

Emily & Dylan chose to have our a stand up Tapas package option to celebrate their engagement. They chose to have a food station under the chandelier rather than their tapas being handed around as they wanted a relaxed fun feel for their guests to be able to avail themselves of as much or a little food as they wished. This created an atmosphere of relaxed celebration and fun. We loved her styling of nostalgic framed pictures and pieces that had historic and sentimental value. With a mix of colourful florals the centre table looked absolutely warm and inviting. They also created lounge nooks in our space using our vintage furniture and lamps which gave the room an absolutely romantic touch. A very special thank you to Paul Mac Photography for these fabulous pics!
"My Husband and i got married there on the weekend and it was amazing. The food, the venue, the staff all was perfect. Looking forward to the next party there. Thank you again for everything xxx" Mikalina Pungeanello.
Michelle & Ben chose the shared table menu at Ten22 which certainly did not disappoint! With 2 huge long tables down the centre of the venue, their guests partook in an extravagant array of food which was placed down the centre of the table. They were wowed as the chicken & spanish chorizo paella hit the tables on Paella pans for all to dig in and share. The shared table menu promotes a more relaxed feel for guests to let their hair down and party the night away. We loved her styling of hanging floral birdcages, vintage lace and rustic table centres. A truly beautiful wedding! Nat x
Zena & Chris transformed Ten22 into a James Bond extravaganza for Chris' 30th birthday celebration. With poker tables, Vesper Martinis and all the props to boot, Chris's 30th Birthday was celebrated in true style as guests arrived in full Bond themed costumes. It was a fantastic night and showcases the versatility of our venue. We love that every event takes on a different feel and reflects such personality and individuality of each of our clients and their events. Such a beautiful couple and it was a pleasure working with them to create such a memorable event. "Ten22 is the most beautiful venue! We celebrated my husbands 30th birthday party there and it was absolutely perfect. I would like to thank Natalie, David, Fran and the team at Ten22 for creating the most magical night!!!" Zena Saunders.
It was great to have the Qantas epiQure event for Adelaide at Ten22 Boutique Venue. "An evening of delectable discovery combining a love of gastronomic craft, from wine-making and premium liquor distilling to the culinary trend of gourmet mini burgers." Qantas epiQure. It was a fanstastic event for more than 100 of Qantas frequent flyers and VIP'S where on arrival they received a complimentary Riedel Overture Magnum tasting glass. The room was filled with much chatter and laughter as guests sampled the finest wines and ate house made gourmet sliders till they could fit no more. We love that our space can be transformed to reflect the personality and theme of every event showcasing its individuality. We loved working with the Qantas staff and welcome them in our space anytime.

How did you meet?
Chris and I met through his sister kirstie (maid of honour) asI went to school with her. she found out we both thought each other was cute and she set us up on a movie date.
How did Chris propose?
Chris proposed to me while we were holidaying in New Zealand. we were staying at a hotel in Queenstown over looking the Remarkables when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. the date was 11.12.13. quite an easy date to remember.
What made you choose TEN22 BOUTIQUE VENUE?
We had a look at a few places around Adelaide but when we saw the inside of Ten22 we loved it. It suited our relaxed vintage wedding to a tee.
What menu did you choose & why?
We chose to have the shared plates menu at our wedding as we liked the idea of people having to talk to each other to pass the plate around. kind of like a family style dinner.
What did you love most about Ten22?
We just loved the vintage style of the place and the relaxed but sophisticated feel it had. we also liked that is was almost a blank canvas a we could set the place up as we liked. We went for a relaxed, vintage look with a pop of red.
Your dress & bridesmaids dresses?
My wedding dress was from Princess collection and I brought it within a month of getting engaged. I fell in love with it as soon as I tried it on. my dress had an illusion neckline, with lace and a little beading, with a tulle skirt. The girls bridesmaid dresses were from Jenny and Gerrys and were a strapless raspberry red colour.
How did you come up with your styling ideas and what wedding suppliers helped you create your unique style?
I looked through a lot of bridal magazines and went to quite a few different wedding expos to look for styles and ideas I liked. I new I wanted a vintage inspired wedding so that made it easier to come up with styles I liked. we used A Moment in Time wedding planning, Yasmin was a lot of help. She did everything from making our invitations to setting up our ceremony and reception I'd highly recommened them to anyone else who is planning a wedding.
